Featured on TLC’s Cake Boss and known for its delicious pastries and desserts, Carlo’s Bakery is a family-owned, nationally-recognized bakery dedicated to quality and excellence. Originally opened in 1910 and acquired by Bartolo Valastro Sr. in 1964, the bakery was passed in 1994 to Bartolo “Buddy” Valastro Jr. along with his sisters Grace, Maddalena, Mary and Lisa and the family matriarch, Mary Valastro.
In the years since, Buddy and his family have grown the business, sharing their confections with countless devoted fans. They've been featured in numerous publications and appeared on the Food Network, in Modern Bridge and in The Knot. Part of their success has been due to physical expansion into new markets.
Working with GGP, Carlo’s Bakery was able to expand the brand outside of the East Coast, introducing bakeries in Las Vegas, Houston, San Antonio and Frisco. This unique partnership also created the first Carlo’s Bakery Kiosk, as well as a location offering a full-service Buddy V’s Ristorante experience alongside a Carlo’s Bakery.

New markets acquired
Established in Long Beach, CA in 1996, Yard House began as a pioneer in the budding craft beer revolution, opening its first restaurant with 250 taps. In the nearly two decades since, Yard House has grown to 66 restaurants nationwide, including nine within GGP’s portfolio.
Those nine locations have helped to expand Yard House's reach and grow the establishment's fanbase. From Northridge Fashion Center in Northridge, California to Shops at Merrick Park in Coral Gables, Florida, visitors continue to discover the world’s largest selection of craft beer, over 100 items made from scratch daily, and an upbeat atmosphere complemented by original artwork and a soundtrack of classic rock hits.
With over 180 menu items prepared from scratch, Maggie McFly's creates a unique dining experience built around locally sourced ingredients, all-natural and humanely raised meats and hand-crafted artisanal cocktails. GGP partnered with Maggie McFly's to determine key areas of opportunity for expansion.
The partnership has resulted in two of Maggie's six locations opening in GGP properties positioned in the American Northeast (Lynnhaven Mall and The Shoppes at Buckland Hills). Located in popular retail hubs within key markets, the eateries enjoy increased exposure for their fresh, inventive menu and dedication to community support and environmental responsibility.
"GGP has been a great partner in helping Maggie McFly's launch our brand into a new and exciting market. The lease process was efficient and fair leaving time to focus on the implementation of realizing our goals. The professionalism shown from the Leasing Team to the Tenant Coordinators was outstanding and we look forward to working with them on future projects."
- Ray Harper, founder and owner of Maggie McFly's
