Brian McCarthy

 

Brian McCarthy serves as Chief Administrative Officer for GGP. His responsibilities include property management, national operations, ordinary capital, security, energy, sustainability, and office services. In his role, Brian manages operating expenses exceeding $1.2 billion for a portfolio of more than 100 retail centers, as well as annual capital expenditures of over $100 million.

With nearly three decades of tenure at the company, Brian previously served as Executive Vice President of Asset Management. He and his team have successfully invested over $320 million in energy initiatives, achieving a return of more than 14%. These efforts have secured six consecutive Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) Green Star awards the company, which is currently ranked 7th in the U.S. for installed on-site solar production.

Brian holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.
